📸 Exciting moments at the Suite Photocall: "JEANNE DU BARRY" by MAÏWENN! ✨

We had the privilege of attending the Suite Photocall for the film "JEANNE DU BARRY" by the talented director MAÏWENN at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. This captivating film is set to mesmerize audiences with its unique storytelling and exceptional performances. 🎥

Although "JEANNE DU BARRY" is out of competition, it promises to leave a lasting impression with its artistic vision and powerful narrative. The Suite Photocall was filled with excitement as the cast and crew gathered to share their insights and experiences during the making of this remarkable film. 🌟

Synopsis: Jeanne Vaubernier, a commoner eager to elevate herself socially, leverages her charms to escape her humble condition. Her lover, Count Du Barry, who amasses wealth through Jeanne's lucrative affairs, desires to present her to the King. He arranges the meeting through the influential Duke de Richelieu. The encounter surpasses expectations: a love at first sight blossoms between Louis XV and Jeanne.

With the courtesan, the King rediscovers the joy of life to such an extent that he cannot imagine living without her, deciding to make her his official favorite. Scandal erupts as nobody at the Court wants a street girl in their midst.

Maïwenn, whose full name is Maïwenn Le Besco, is a French director, actress, and screenwriter born on April 17, 1976, in Les Lilas, near Paris. She is also known by the pen name Maïwenn.

About Maïwenn: The daughter of actress Catherine Belkhodja and director Haïm Korsia, Maïwenn grew up in the artistic milieu of French cinema. She began her career as an actress at a young age, appearing in films such as "L'Année des méduses" (1984) at the age of 8.

However, Maïwenn gained recognition as a director. Her first feature film, "Forgive Me" (2006), in which she also played the lead role, was well-received by critics. She confirmed her talent with "The Actress' Ball" (2009), a comedy that explores the behind-the-scenes world of cinema.

Her next film, "Polisse" (2011), based on the daily life of a child protection unit in Paris, won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and achieved both critical and commercial success. This film highlights her ability to address complex social issues with sensitivity and realism.

Maïwenn continues to explore personal and social themes in her subsequent works, including "My King" (2015), which earned Emmanuelle Bercot the Best Actress award at Cannes, and "DNA" (2020), a reflection on identity and origins.

In addition to her cinematic work, Maïwenn remains an engaged and influential figure in the French film industry, bringing her unique perspective through her films and sparking discussions on important issues.

We can't wait to see the magic unfold on the big screen! Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to catch "JEANNE DU BARRY" as it captivates hearts and minds at #Cannes2023. 🎬✨
