The Embassy of France in Kuwait announced on Tuesday that it is temporarily closing its doors to the public due to the rapidly escalating situation in the region, as tensions rise amid the US–Israeli–Iranian conflict.
In a statement reported by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, the embassy urged French nationals residing in Kuwait to exercise caution.
“Given the regional situation and its local repercussions, French citizens in Kuwait are advised to strictly comply with the instructions of local authorities and to limit non-essential travel,” the statement said.
Public Access Suspended
The embassy confirmed that its building is temporarily closed to the public and requested that citizens refrain from visiting the premises during this period.
“We invite our nationals not to come to the embassy and to follow the latest updates through the embassy’s official accounts,” the statement added.
Monitoring the Situation Closely
The diplomatic mission emphasized that it is closely monitoring developments in coordination with local authorities and will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
The closure comes as regional tensions intensify following military exchanges involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, prompting several countries to adopt precautionary measures to ensure the safety of their citizens abroad.
French authorities have reiterated that the protection of nationals overseas remains a top priority as the situation continues to unfold.
