The World Film Festival in Cannes Returns for a Spectacular 6th Edition Celebrating the Future of Cinema

On June 27, 2026, the prestigious World Film Festival in Cannes – Remember The Future will once again transform the French Riviera into a global stage for cinematic innovation, artistic excellence, and cultural dialogue.

Hosted at the elegant Pullman Cannes Mandelieu Hotel, this sixth annual edition promises an immersive experience where independent cinema, artificial intelligence, live performances, haute couture, and international creativity converge in a uniquely refined atmosphere.

More than a traditional film festival, the World Film Festival in Cannes has established itself as a visionary platform dedicated to exploring the evolution of storytelling and the future of the cinematic arts.

A Festival Where Cinema Meets Innovation

Founded around the concept of “Remember The Future,” the festival seeks to bridge the emotional legacy of cinema with the transformative possibilities offered by emerging technologies.

Under the direction of founder and president Karolina Bomba, the event has rapidly gained international recognition for championing bold creators, unconventional narratives, and new artistic perspectives.

This year’s edition places a particular emphasis on the growing relationship between cinema and artificial intelligence, opening a conversation about how technology is reshaping creativity without replacing the human soul behind artistic expression.

As the festival’s philosophy suggests:
“For one evening, the future and the past become one.”

Exploring the Rise of AI Cinema

The daytime program begins at 1:00 PM with the “Best of Future 2026” screenings, showcasing a curated selection of innovative films from around the world.

At 5:00 PM, audiences will discover one of the most anticipated moments of the festival: the Mashup Festival Selection Screening titled The CinemiA of Today.

This groundbreaking program presents a new generation of filmmakers — referred to as “Cine AI’st” — creators who combine artificial intelligence tools with traditional cinematic techniques to develop original visual narratives.

Unlike conventional productions relying on large technical crews, these creators often work independently or in small teams, overseeing every aspect of the creative process themselves: writing, visual composition, editing, sound design, color grading, music, and voice direction.

The festival positions artificial intelligence not as a replacement for artistic sensitivity, but as a catalyst for imagination and experimentation.

Among the films presented during the screening are:

  • THE CINEMA THAT NEVER WAS by Mark Wachholz (Germany)
  • LA PORNOGRAPHE by Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre and Milla Cummings (Canada)
  • PUFFER FISH by Felipe Valério (Brazil)
  • REPAIR by Hal Watmough (United Kingdom)
  • 1Q89 by Mihai Gregu (Romania)
  • WE THE CHANGE by Eric Oldrin, Jeremy Clark, Michael Goedecke, and Antonio Marcato (USA)
  • ANOMALIA by Delphine Sicard Malafosse (France)
  • LA DANSE DE LA JOIE by Julien Lahmi (France)

The program reflects a fascinating evolution of modern cinema, where technology opens new creative possibilities while human intuition remains central to storytelling.

A Glamorous Gala Inspired by Cannes Elegance

As evening falls, the festival transitions into an exclusive gala celebration beginning at 7:00 PM with a prestigious red carpet photocall and welcome cocktail attended by filmmakers, artists, media representatives, and international cultural personalities.

The evening’s dress code, entitled “The Red Touch,” encourages guests to incorporate touches of red into their attire — whether through couture gowns, statement accessories, or subtle details symbolizing passion, power, and artistic intensity.

Karolina Bomba will appear wearing a couture creation designed by internationally acclaimed fashion designer Isabell Kristensen, whose creations have been worn by global icons including Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Paris Hilton, Helena Christensen, Katy Perry, Tina Turner, Prince, Shania Twain, Liza Minnelli, Shirley Bassey and members of royal families worldwide.

The gala dinner itself promises a refined gastronomic experience featuring:

  • asparagus and green bean salad with truffle burratina,
  • duck breast with raspberry jus,
  • and a chocolate and red berry pavlova dessert.

International Performances and Couture Fashion

The artistic dimension of the evening will continue through several live performances.

British singer Tom Ball, revealed through Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent: All-Stars, will perform exclusively for festival guests.

Guests will also enjoy performances by:

  • Vanina Aronica,
  • and Lorenzo Caltagirone, Grand Prize winner of the Pavarotti Foundation.

A couture fashion show by designer Anggy Haïf will further elevate the evening, blending cinema, music, and fashion into a singular immersive experience.

A Festival Reinventing the Cultural Landscape of the Riviera

In just six editions, the World Film Festival in Cannes has become one of the Riviera’s most distinctive cultural events, attracting an increasingly international audience fascinated by the intersection of cinema, luxury, innovation, and creativity.

Far from the traditional codes of mainstream festivals, the event embraces experimentation, emotional storytelling, and emerging artistic movements while maintaining the glamour and sophistication associated with Cannes.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape creative industries worldwide, the festival positions itself at the forefront of a new cinematic era — one where technology enhances imagination rather than replacing it.

The 6th edition of the World Film Festival in Cannes promises not only a celebration of cinema, but also a reflection on the future of human creativity itself.
