Cannes Lions 2022: Dua Lipa Revives Cannes Lions Team with "Hot and Sweat" Musical Performance on the Beach
Dua Lipa set the stage on fire at a temporary beach venue in southern France during the Cannes Lions festival. Addressing a packed house during the Spotify Beach Party on Tuesday night in Cannes, she asked, "Are you still having a good time? Are you hot and sweaty like us?"
The crowd, including dedicated Lipa fans and swarms of marketing and advertising professionals in town for the week-long festival, erupted in thunderous applause, indicating that the sweltering 90-degree weather did not dampen their spirits.
The pop star responded with a smile, saying, "Well, that what I like to hear," before launching into her 2015 solo hit, "Be the One."
Lipa and her ten dancers, all dressed in figure-hugging light green outfits, brought more heat to the city of Cannes with a tightly choreographed, vibrant hour-long dance set.
High-energy vocals, chair dancing, emotional harmonies, and plenty of hair flips were all part of the spectacle. At one point, Elton John made a stunning appearance on the screen as the 26-year-old singer performed their duet, "Cold Heart."
The performance, which included "New Rules," "One Kiss," "Don't Start Now," and more chart-topping hits, was a coveted ticket for Cannes Lions attendees. Prior to Lipa taking the stage around 12:30 AM, invited guests had to be turned away as the venue reached its capacity.
An exclusive source told Page Six, "The people who couldn't get in were very disappointed. Many of them left in a huff. It seems like everyone desperately wanted to be in Dua presence."
Meanwhile, large crowds gathered outside the event in hopes of catching a glimpse of the British beauty from afar.
