PTCL Group Secures Strategic Partnerships at GITEX GLOBAL: PTCL Group, a subsidiary of e& (formerly known as Etisalat Group), has recently formalized significant agreements during the GITEX Global event in Dubai. These strategic partnerships aim to drive business transformation and explore innovative ICT solutions. The announcements were made during two signing ceremonies attended by senior executives from PTCL & Ufone, SAP, IBM, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Nokia.
PTCL & Ufone initiated their corporate business transformation by embracing IBM's Rise with SAP on Amazon Web Services. This initiative is set to revolutionize their organization, fostering efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation. The implementation includes SAP S/4HANA, a leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) application. IBM will spearhead the SAP offering, while AWS will serve as the chosen Cloud platform. PTCL & Ufone are poised to become the first telecommunications provider in Pakistan to benefit from this comprehensive blend of SAP implementation services, Hyperscaler Cloud services, and an ERP solution.
The overarching goal of this business transformation project is to enable PTCL & Ufone to offer Cloud services, modernize business processes, and gain valuable business insights. Leveraging S/4HANA and its underlying HANA database, PTCL & Ufone can access real-time data, facilitating improved operations, collaboration with partners, and enhanced customer service. This initiative positions them at the forefront of digital transformation, offering access to new business models and markets.
In a separate Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), PTCL and Nokia have joined forces to explore the potential of the ICT market and catalyze digital transformation in enterprises across Pakistan. The collaboration involves strategizing and building a go-to-market plan to address industry needs, combining PTCL solutions with Nokia's products and services, including Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC).
Hatem Bamatraf, President and Group CEO of PTCL & Ufone, expressed excitement about the operational journey and the pivotal role PTCL is playing in driving digital transformation in Pakistan. Saquib Ahmad, Country Managing Director of SAP Pakistan, highlighted Pakistan's rapid adoption of SAP's enterprise and corporate solutions in the growing market.
Asif Ahmad, Country Sales Head of IBM Pakistan, emphasized that the adoption of Rise with SAP would empower PTCL and Ufone to embrace new business models and use AI for informed decision-making. Imran Durrani, Head of Customer Team for PTCL Group at Nokia, reinforced Nokia's commitment to leveraging its private wireless products and services to empower PTCL in offering digital solutions to enterprise customers.
The decision to host the SAP S/4HANA landscape on AWS aligns with PTCL Group's commitment to providing enhanced service quality, faster speeds, and a simplified network architecture to its customers. With this initiative, PTCL Group aims to set a benchmark for advancement in Pakistan's telecom sector, marking it as the largest business transformation project on Rise with S/4HANA in the corporate sector in the country to date.
