July 19, 2023, Milan - J Craft Boats AB, Europe leading luxury yacht builder, reports significant business developments and growth as it unveils an exciting summer program. In 2023, J Craft marks a year of expansion, with the delivery of three Torpedoes, the launch of its US operations, and a strong commitment to sustainability across materials, production, energy, and its facility in Gotland, Sweden.
J Craft is committed to environmentally responsible practices, with a strict emphasis on materials' environmental impact and biodegradability. Over 95% of production is sourced and crafted in Sweden. Additionally, the company is on track to meet all its energy needs from renewable sources.
J Craft, renowned for its Torpedo 42, bespoke hand-crafted day cruisers, recently delivered Hull #20, named "Family T," to St Tropez in late May. From there, it embarked on its maiden voyage to its new home port in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, completing the journey in just over 8 hours.
Hull #21, known as "Babebi," was delivered to its home port of Beaulieu in late June. This Torpedo, designated as a "RS" model, boasts two Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines, capable of reaching a top speed of 47 knots. Its interior features a striking two-tone design with yellow brass and off-white accents, adorned with exquisite diamond stitching. Babebi is equipped with additional lithium batteries, enabling a full day on the water with engines off, while still powering music, charging, refrigeration, air conditioning, and the seakeeper, all without the need for a generator. This ensures an exceptionally quiet and comfortable experience without compromising on amenities.
Taking over 9,000 man-hours to craft, the Torpedo achieves speeds exceeding 50 mph and offers exceptional maneuverability. Its hull shape, refined over two dozen builds, ensures excellent stability and performance in varying sea conditions, along with an impressive range of 280 nautical miles. The convertible open cockpit can comfortably accommodate up to 10 adults for day cruises, while the spacious cabin offers luxurious sleeping arrangements for up to 4 guests.
This summer, J Craft has planned an ambitious program of activities on both sides of the Atlantic, from Nantucket to Martha Vineyard, the Hamptons, Newport, Annapolis, and Florida Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). In Europe, J Craft partners Sportmer and Monaco Marine will take the lead in St Tropez and Monaco, adding two new J Craft Torpedoes to their fleet. (See the program [here](insert link)).
J Craft will also make appearances at the Cannes Boat Show (Sept. 12 - 17) and the Monaco Boat Show (Sept. 27 - 30), showcasing its latest Torpedo, BaBeBi, through partners Sportmer and Monaco Marine.
In the United States, in collaboration with Dave Mallach, J Craft will participate in three major international boat shows this Fall: Newport, RI (Sept. 14 - 17); Annapolis, MA (Oct. 5 - 8); and Fort Lauderdale, FL (Oct. 25 - 29), with a Torpedo on display.
