Paradigm 3D Unveils Advanced 3D Printing Facility in Dubai with Stratasys Technology

Paradigm 3D Unveils Advanced 3D Printing Facility in Dubai with Stratasys Technology: In a significant development, Paradigm 3D inaugurated its cutting-edge 3D-printing facility in Dubai on Thursday, marking a Dh20 million investment in the state-of-the-art establishment. This facility stands out as the pioneering initiative in the Middle East capable of adhering to the aerospace-specific EASA Part 21G regulation, ensuring the production of high-quality parts.

Equipped with leading-edge industrial 3D printers from Stratasys Ltd., the 10,750 sq ft. factory, located in the Jabel Ali Industrial Area, is set to focus initially on manufacturing components for the aviation industry. With an initial production capacity of approximately 2,000 additively manufactured parts annually, the facility aims to scale up to around 20,000 parts per year within the next decade. The range of components produced will span various aviation elements, including seating, lavatories, electronic cooling ducts, wire guides, and more.

Key industry players such as Boeing, Collins Aerospace, BAE Systems, Airbus, Diehl Aviation, and Safran Seats globally utilize additive manufacturing systems from Stratasys. However, what distinguishes Paradigm 3D's facility is its unique certification, making it the sole 3D printing service provider in the Middle East authorized to produce 3D-printed parts for both private and commercial aircraft. Andreas Langfeld, President of Stratasys EMEA, emphasized the significance of this certification, noting that it will substantially reduce lead times for replacement parts, contributing to more predictable aircraft operations and reducing operational costs and environmental impact associated with spare parts transportation.

Paradigm 3D has strategically partnered with Stratasys' longstanding Dubai-based platinum partner, The Design to Manufacturing Company (theD2Mco), and Latvia-based aerospace production company, AM Craft, holding an EASA Production Organization Approval (POA). TheD2Mco facilitated the installation of industrial 3D printers and will provide continuous uptime and support, while AM Craft will assist Paradigm 3D in becoming the first qualified manufacturing site outside the European Union under their certification.

Kyriakos Papantoniou, Group Executive Director at theD2Mco, expressed commitment to supporting the UAE government's manufacturing sector vision, highlighting the unique capabilities of the facility. Janis Jatnieks, CEO of AM Craft, emphasized the global impact, stating that the facility will enable decentralized and on-demand manufacturing for aerospace companies worldwide.

Looking ahead, Paradigm 3D plans to diversify its focus beyond aviation, eyeing other industry verticals following the success of its Jabel Ali manufacturing plant. Mohamed Juma, co-founder and owner of Paradigm 3D, sees additive manufacturing as a pivotal growth enabler, positioning the UAE as a hub for a true digital manufacturing revolution, with ambitions to expand into sectors such as oil & gas and other industrial applications.
