Qatari Duo Advances to Quarter-Finals at World Tennis Tour in Doha
The Qatari duo of Rashid Nawaf and Musa Shannan has advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Tennis Tour in Doha. The tournament, in its fourth edition, is currently being organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, and Badminton Federation, featuring 32 players in the singles category and 16 doubles teams.
Nawaf and Shannan secured their spot in the quarter-finals by defeating the team of Andre Cossio from Romania and Tushar Sharma from India in straight sets.
In the quarter-finals, the Qatari duo will face the Russian pairing of Sharpov Marat and Igor Agafonov.
In the singles category, Marek Gyngel from the Czech Republic reached the quarter-finals after a straight-sets victory over Germany's Paul Werner, while Russian player Sharpov Marat also advanced to the quarter-finals with a straight-sets win over his Turkish counterpart, Koray Korsih.
Another Russian player, Alexei Zakharov, made it to the quarter-finals by defeating his fellow countryman Bobrov Bogdan in straight sets.
