Russian Ambassador to the UAE: World Media Congress Uniquely Shapes the Global Media Industry
Abu Dhabi, October 11 / WAM / His Excellency Timur Zabirov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates, has stated that the World Media Congress, held annually in Abu Dhabi, serves as a significant and unique international platform that contributes substantially to shaping the global media industry.
In his remarks to the United Arab Emirates' news agency (WAM), His Excellency emphasized that Russia was represented at the World Media Congress in its inaugural session last year by influential national media institutions such as Russia Today television channel and the TASS and Sputnik news agencies.
He added that the leadership of these institutions held several important meetings and other activities on the sidelines of the conference.
His Excellency the Ambassador stated, "The Congress has demonstrated its position as a vital platform, allowing Russian media to strengthen and diversify their professional relationships with key partners from around the world and the United Arab Emirates."
Furthermore, he highlighted the dynamic and fruitful cooperation between Russian and Emirati media institutions, both in bilateral and multilateral frameworks. His Excellency noted that one notable step in this direction was the participation of a delegation from the UAE's news agency, WAM, led by its Director-General, His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, in the international conference "Russia and the Islamic World: Practical Steps in Media Cooperation," which took place in Moscow last December.
The Ambassador stated, "We place great importance on maintaining regular bilateral contacts in the media field. I am confident that such links will provide an additional positive impetus for future growth and further accomplishments in many other areas of the friendly relations and strategic partnership between Russia and the United Arab Emirates."
His Excellency expressed Russia's aspiration for active participation by Russian news agencies and media companies in the World Media Congress during its second session this year.
