Starting tomorrow, Abu Dhabi Police will prohibit buses carrying 50 or more passengers from entering Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street during peak hours.

In cooperation with the Integrated Transport Center, the Abu Dhabi Police General Command has announced the restriction of buses carrying "50 or more passengers" from traveling on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, from the Sheikh Zayed Bridge to the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel (formerly Al Mangrove Street), in both directions during morning and evening peak hours. This restriction will go into effect from Monday, October 9, 2023. It is worth noting that the restriction will also apply during weekends and holidays.

This decision has been made as part of the ongoing efforts to ease traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents caused by these large vehicles. The ban on bus travel will be enforced during morning peak hours from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and evening peak hours from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Abu Dhabi Police General Command has urged drivers to adhere to the specified time frames, respecting traffic regulations and rules. They have also emphasized the enhancement of road controls and the enforcement of penalties for buses carrying workers that violate these restrictions. Additionally, monitoring and violation enforcement will be facilitated through intelligent systems.
