His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, a member of the National Electoral Commission, and head of the National Electoral Commission's Secretariat, confirmed that the United Arab Emirates is moving forward with confidence to strengthen the culture of political participation among all members of society, launching ambitious programs and initiatives, including active participation in the Federal National Council elections.
Lootah stated in his remarks to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the successful parliamentary experience in the United Arab Emirates reflects the visions and directives of the wise leaders and their determination to advance parliamentary work in a manner that serves the nation's interests, its citizens, and enhances the prosperity and status of the United Arab Emirates.
He emphasized that the National Electoral Commission has diligently utilized all resources and capabilities to facilitate and ensure the success of the fifth electoral cycle, aiming for the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency in the electoral process, making it easy for voters to cast their ballots as quickly as possible.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah underscored that the active participation of the country's population in the 2023 Federal National Council elections leaves a clear mark on the process of strengthening parliamentary work in the United Arab Emirates. It contributes to efforts aimed at reinforcing the Council's position as an advisory and executive support authority and solidifies its role in promoting the state's vision and defending its interests, positions, and issues on regional and international platforms.
The voting process began on the main election day, Saturday, October 7, with remote voting from inside and outside the country and electronic voting in 24 electoral centers across all emirates of the UAE.
Voters are also allowed to cast their votes at any electoral center, regardless of whether it is in their home emirate or any other.
The official announcement of the preliminary results of the 2023 Federal National Council elections will take place at the main electoral center at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre once the voting process is complete today.
