UAE Minister Encourages Gulf Cooperation Council Countries to Sign Food, Agriculture, and Climate Action Declaration
Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has urged the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to endorse the United Arab Emirates' declaration on food systems, agriculture, and climate action. She also called for support for the UAE's initiatives during the COP28 conference to enhance food systems in the face of climate change, reduce global emissions, and contribute to eradicating hunger worldwide.
These remarks were made during her participation in the 34th Ministerial Meeting of the Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security Committee of the GCC countries. The meeting took place yesterday at the Consultative Authority of the Supreme Council for the Arab Gulf States in the Omani capital, Muscat, under the leadership of His Excellency Saud bin Hamoud Al-Habsi, the Omani Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
