Dubai, September 20th - His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, and Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, praised the continuous achievements of the United Arab Emirates in the field of space. These accomplishments reflect the vision of the UAE leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This vision is directed towards the promising future of the space sector, consolidating its regional leadership scientifically and knowledge-wise, and enhancing its global position, especially in space research.

His Highness commended the exceptional efforts of the team at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre for their outstanding contributions over the past six months in ensuring the success of the mission of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi aboard the International Space Station. The mission involved overseeing the details of the longest space mission in Arab history, culminating in his safe return to the homeland.

He stated, "With the completion of Sultan Al Neyadi's mission in space, we succeed in achieving another mission in line with the strategic path outlined for us by our wise leadership to achieve leadership in all areas of space."

His Highness added, "The ambitious Zayed 2 mission represents another milestone for the Centre towards new achievements, which will be realized according to the strategy we have adopted. Sultan Al Neyadi's achievement today is the result of an integrated system of our exceptional Emirati talent, which we believe is the foundation of our success and excellence."

He expressed his gratitude to all the members of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre who dedicated their efforts to ensuring the success of the longest space mission in Arab history. He also looked forward to future space achievements.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre plays a pivotal role in shaping the UAE's future in the space sector through its contributions to the development of the national space sector, support for the sustainable national economy, investment in national competencies and talents, and the pursuit of leading the country in space applications, explorations, and peaceful uses.

The achievements of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre have placed the UAE among the influential countries in the field of space and its sciences. Its contribution has been one of the most important factors in achieving the nation's groundbreaking accomplishments in space exploration. These achievements include Hazzaa AlMansoori's historic visit to the International Space Station as the first Emirati astronaut and the launch of the "Hope Probe" on a historic journey to explore the planet Mars. These milestones have been realized through a clear vision, defined plans and programs, and a precise scientific and practical methodology.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre designed and built the "KhalifaSat" satellite, launched in 2018. It was the first fully Emirati satellite and one of the most advanced among those sent to space by the UAE.
