Commitment to Eco-Conscious Living
Benetti emphasizes its dedication to sustainable living by announcing the development of eight hybrid vessels for its B.Yond and B.Now series. During a press briefing at the luxurious Hotel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo, coinciding with the Monaco Yacht Show, the brand revealed its recent innovations to a global audience of journalists and brokers.
Marco Valle, the Chief Executive Officer of Benetti, commenced the press conference by underscoring the group’s outstanding accomplishments for the fiscal year 2023-2024. With revenues reaching €1.3 billion and a project backlog of €2.6 billion, Benetti foresees a 15% increase in growth for the forthcoming season. This ambitious objective is supported by a substantial investment plan of €160 million, aimed at continuing the brand's strategic goals from 2025 to 2027.
This significant success is largely due to the remarkable results achieved by the Benetti division, which currently holds orders for 58 vessels, aggregating to 30,900 gross tons, as confirmed by Daniela Petrozzi, the sales director at Benetti.
The B.Yond Collection: Merging Technology with Exploration
The B.Yond range distinguishes itself through its unique ability to blend technological advancements with environmental stewardship. Benetti designs this series around the principle of eco-conscious living, integrating innovative solutions to diminish the ecological footprint of luxury yachts.
With its state-of-the-art electrification systems, the B.Yond collection enables a reduction in fuel consumption by as much as 20%. Benetti boasts the most extensive hybrid lineup available, with 90% of its models offered in hybrid or diesel-electric configurations. Furthermore, onboard energy management is optimized through heat recovery systems and direct expansion air-conditioning technology, which can cut service consumption by up to 40%.
Additionally, the shipyard has formed a partnership with ENI to utilize HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) biofuel throughout all its operations. This collaboration has led to a reduction of CO2 emissions by approximately 1,000 tons annually. This fuel, compatible with the entire Benetti lineup, can lower greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 90% when employed as onboard fuel.
Benetti goes above and beyond by routinely equipping its vessels under 500 GT with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems, even though this feature is not mandated for this category. According to Benetti’s projections, this choice mitigates NOx emissions by 2.5 tons per yacht annually, thus allowing its vessels to operate in protected marine regions.
B.Yond 57M: A Yacht Tailored for Diverse Experiences
The B.Yond 57M epitomizes the adventurous spirit with a design that facilitates multiple cruising experiences. This model presents three stern configurations: the "Beach" version, featuring an expansive outdoor area and pool; the "Air" version, outfitted with a touch-and-go helipad that can be converted into a veranda; and the "Water" version, specifically designed for storing marine exploration gear.
The extensive glass facade of this 57-meter yacht permits an abundance of natural light, allowing for the use of carbon black-finished timber, which creates bright interiors with panoramic views of the ocean. This model aims to ensure a lavish cruising experience while minimizing its environmental impact, thanks to its pioneering hybrid system.
B.Yond 40M: A Revolutionary Approach to Yachting
The B.Yond 40M is notable for its four decks, each dedicated to a specific purpose. With approximately 150 square meters of social spaces surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, this 40-meter yacht offers interiors bathed in natural light. The lighter hues utilized, including bleached brushed oak, provide depth and character while ensuring resilience.
Designed for extended voyages, this model offers flexible layouts that cater to the unique requirements of its owners while embodying the timeless elegance that characterizes the Benetti brand.
Motopanfilo 45M: Contemporary Design for an Enriching Experience
The Motopanfilo 45M, featuring a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, reinterprets the "Navetta" concept by blending modernity with a sense of community. Crafted in collaboration with RWD for the external aesthetics and Lazzarini & Pickering Architetti for the interior design, this model introduces the Veranda Deck® concept.
The Veranda Deck® fully opens the salon on the main deck on three sides, creating a seamless transition to a veranda overlooking the infinity pool, offering unobstructed vistas of the horizon. Natural materials such as wicker, rattan, and bamboo adorn both interior and exterior spaces, providing a sensory experience that emphasizes the bond with nature.
B.Loft: A Modern Take on Yachting
The B.Loft initiative, designed by Cassetta Yacht Designers, embodies a fresh architectural vision for yachts. With its contemporary residential loft aesthetic, B.Loft delivers a distinctive experience aboard a megayacht. A revolutionary aspect of this project is the Cabana located on the main deck, which redefines the concept of a beach club.
This panoramic space provides a 270-degree view, with foldable wings that further enhance the available area. B.Loft harmonizes the volumes of a villa with the brightness of a loft, featuring ceilings that soar to about four meters in height and expansive outdoor spaces, some of which can be transformed into interiors for maximum adaptability and customization.
