Milan, July 19, 2023 - J Craft Boats AB, the leading European luxury yacht manufacturer, is pleased to announce new developments and commercial growth alongside a packed summer program.
2023 marks a year of growth and firsts for J Craft, with the delivery of three torpedoes, the launch of the company's operations in the United States, and a commitment to sustainability in materials, production, energy, and its Gotland plant in Sweden.
J Craft meticulously selects materials with a strong emphasis on environmental impact and biodegradability, ensuring that over 95% of production originates and is made in Sweden. Furthermore, J Craft will soon meet all its energy needs from renewable sources.
J Craft, the creator of the Torpedo 42, exquisite custom handcrafted day cruisers, recently delivered hull #20, "Family T," to Saint-Tropez at the end of May. It set sail on its maiden voyage and reached its new homeport of Porto Cervo, Sardinia, in just over 8 hours.
Hull #21, "Babebi," was delivered to its homeport of Beaulieu at the end of June, marking J Craft's very first torpedo with a metallic-colored hull. Babebi is an "RS" Torpedo equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines, propelling it to a top speed of 47 knots.
The interior features a two-tone design with yellow brass and off-white, adorned with beautiful diamond stitching. The new Torpedo comes with additional lithium batteries, enabling a full day on the water with engines off, while keeping music, charging, refrigeration, air conditioning, and the Seakeeper on, eliminating the need for a generator, making it exceptionally quiet and comfortable without sacrificing any amenities.
Taking over 9,000 hours to construct, the Torpedo can reach speeds exceeding 50 mph and offers exceptional maneuverability. Its hull shape, refined over two dozen builds, provides excellent stability and performance in all sea conditions, along with an impressive range of 280 nm.
The convertible open cockpit features two terraces, comfortably accommodating up to 10 adults for day cruises. The spacious cabin can host up to 4 people in luxurious style.
This summer will see an ambitious program of activities on both sides of the Atlantic, from Nantucket to Martha's Vineyard, the Hamptons to FLIBS, Newport, Annapolis, and Florida. In Europe, J Craft partners, Sportmer and Monaco Marine, are taking the lead in Saint-Tropez and Monaco with the addition of two new J Craft torpedoes to their fleet this year.
J Craft will be present at the Cannes (September 12 - 17) and Monaco (September 27 - 30) boat shows to showcase the latest Torpedo, BaBeBi, the most fully equipped J Craft Torpedo to date, through its partners Sportmer and Monaco Marine.
In the United States, in partnership with Dave Mallach, J Craft will exhibit at three major international boat shows this fall: Newport, RI (September 14 - 17); Annapolis, Massachusetts (October 5 - 8); and Fort Lauderdale, Florida (October 25 - 29) with an exhibited torpedo.
