100 Million Meals Campaign Surpasses 78% Target in Inaugural Week: In its inaugural week, the '100 Million Meals' initiative, designed to distribute food parcels to underprivileged communities in 20 countries across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, has successfully achieved 78% of its intended goal.

During this initial week, the campaign garnered over Dh78 million, a sum equivalent to facilitating more than 78 million meals, as substantial contributions poured in from individuals, corporations, and entities both within and outside the UAE.

Over the weekend, Dar Al Ber Society, one of the UAE's pioneering charitable organizations, generously donated Dh20 million to the '100 Million Meals' cause. This significant contribution from Dar Al Ber Society is anticipated to facilitate 20 million meals for economically disadvantaged communities in recipient countries.

The distribution of food parcels has already commenced in various nations, including Jordan, Egypt, and Pakistan, with the ultimate objective of preparing 100 million meals across the 20 designated countries.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary-General of MBRGI, expressed, "The rapid attainment of over half of the targeted donations within a week of the campaign's launch underscores the eagerness of the UAE community, encompassing all its segments and entities, to support the nation's humanitarian endeavors in extending relief to those in need worldwide."

Al Gergawi further stated, "As part of our commitment at MBRGI, we promptly initiated the food distribution process in several countries in response to the overwhelming donations, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme and the Food Banking Regional Network."

The distribution of food parcels is a collaborative effort involving Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the United Nations World Food Programme, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment (MBRCH), Food Banking Regional Network, and local humanitarian organizations in recipient countries.

Mohammed Souhil Al Muhairi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society, emphasized, "The 100 Million Meals campaign exemplifies the UAE's dedication to its fundamental values of generosity, particularly during Ramadan, the month of benevolence, righteousness, and charity. The UAE holds a significant global humanitarian role, and the vision and directives of our leadership have paved the way for..."

Organized by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the campaign aims to secure food parcels empowering disadvantaged families and individuals to prepare their own meals during the holy month of Ramadan. Each Dh1 donated contributes to providing one meal for beneficiaries in targeted countries, including Sudan, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Pakistan, Egypt, Palestine, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Angola.

The World Food Programme will allocate 20% of the campaign's food parcels to refugee camps in Palestine, Jordan, and Bangladesh. Simultaneously, the Food Banking Regional Network is coordinating the provision of food parcels to target groups in 13 of the 20 designated countries.

The '100 Million Meals' campaign operates within a comprehensive framework, ensuring swift and simultaneous food distribution across 20 countries to guarantee food security for beneficiaries throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
