Jumeirah Group Shines at ILTM Spotlight on Luxury Travel Trends

The Jumeirah Group, a prominent luxury travel company, made a significant presence at this year's International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes. The event provided a platform for thousands of hosted buyers and exhibitors to gain insights into the luxury travel market's economic outlook for 2012 and discover the innovations shaping the industry.

Key trends and topics emphasized during the event included the growing popularity of multigenerational travel, the importance of swift online brand reputation management, a continued commitment to sustainability, and the necessity of providing added value through creative solutions to maintain a competitive edge.

Simon Mayle, Marketing Manager, highlighted the event's significance, with a substantial increase in appointments between luxury travel suppliers and high-end travel buyers compared to the previous year.

A special focus was placed on the award-winning Jumeirah Group, known for landmark hotels such as Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, and Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, among others. The Jumeirah Group recently opened Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, its first property in the UAE's capital.

This property features 382 guestrooms and suites, 199 fully-serviced residences, numerous restaurants and bars, the Talise Spa, and one of Abu Dhabi's largest conference centers. It boasts a modern contemporary design with Italian marble, hand-tufted carpets, and photographic artworks depicting 1960s Abu Dhabi.

Looking ahead to 2012, the Jumeirah Group is set to manage the luxury Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome, marking its first venture into the city. The property will be rebranded as Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Rome.

Gerald Lawless, Executive Chairman of the Jumeirah Group, expressed the significance of this addition to their portfolio as part of their global expansion strategy.

The Jumeirah Group has ambitious plans with six new hotels scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, the Maldives, Mallorca, Baku, and Kuwait in the next nine months. In addition to luxury hotels, the Jumeirah Group operates luxury serviced residences, spa brand Talise, Jumeirah Restaurants, Wild Wadi Waterpark, The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, and the global loyalty program Sirius.

The Jumeirah Group was among the elite luxury travel companies attending ILTM, an invitation-only event that brings together luxury travel buyers and suppliers. World Travel Award winners, including the Qatar Tourism Authority, were among the distinguished guests at ILTM.

Qatar was selected as the host of the WTA Grand Final Gala Ceremony, a testament to its rapid rise as a tourism destination and its recognition as the Middle East's Leading Business Destination by the World Travel Awards. The Grand Final Gala Ceremony will feature winners from five regional heats, competing for top honors in the global travel and tourism industry.
