PETA Hails Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as Animal Rights Masterpiece

PETA Praises Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as an Animal Rights Masterpiece

Animal rights organization PETA has heaped praise on Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, calling it an "animal rights masterpiece."

The third installment of the popular Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, directed by James Gunn, has received acclaim from PETA for its portrayal of animal rights issues.

The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoë Saldaña, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Vin Diesel in lead roles, playing Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Mantis, Drax, Nebula, and Groot, respectively.

PETA Senior Vice President, Lisa Lange, expressed her admiration for the movie, stating, "Through Rocket, James Gunn has given a voice and personality to the countless vulnerable animals used in laboratory experiments today."

Lange further explained that PETA sees Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as the year best animal rights film because it encourages viewers to recognize animals as individuals and challenges the notion that we have the right to experiment on them.

In one scene, the film depicts a flashback of Rocket enduring torture at the hands of the High Evolutionary, who aims to transform the anthropomorphic raccoon into a weapon. Nebula remarks that using animals in experiments is even worse than the actions of the villain Thanos.

As the story progresses, Rocket seeks revenge for the mistreatment and experimentation that led to the deaths of his friends (Lylla, Floor, and Teefs). PETA commends the movie for shedding light on the "evils of animal testing."

PETA also bestowed James Gunn with the Not a Number Award, recognizing his compassionate portrayal of Rocket and his companions. The organization lauded Gunn for reminding audiences that animals subjected to laboratory torture are sentient beings, not mere numbers.

Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 serves as a powerful cinematic statement for animal rights, highlighting the need for compassion and ethical treatment of animals in our society.
