Innovative Playground Set to Enrich Jaddaf Waterfront Park
Dubai Culture and Art Jameel are poised to introduce an engaging and interactive playground at Jaddaf Waterfront Park in the upcoming autumn season. The captivating installation has been masterminded by the ingenious design duo, Theory of Imagination, comprising Noura Alwan and Abdallah Bouhiji. Selected from over 100 submissions, their creation was deemed the perfect fit for this dynamic project.
At its core, the playground aspires to cultivate inclusivity and unleash creativity, catering to visitors of all ages. The brainchild of Dubai Public Art initiative, this installation seeks to enrich the cultural landscape with sculptures conceived by local artists across Dubai.
This AED 2 million undertaking serves multiple objectives, including enhancing the quality of life within Dubai and fostering the growth of the creative economy cluster. The initiative impact is evident as it brings works by local artists to prominent cultural hubs such as Jaddaf Waterfront Park.
In a remarkable accomplishment, Dubai has secured the top position globally in terms of the count of cultural and creative projects funded by foreign direct investment (FDI). In 2022, a staggering 451 projects attracted FDI, marking a remarkable 107% increase from the previous year.
Total FDI inflow into the thriving creative sector amounted to AED 7.36 billion (approximately $2 billion). This achievement cements Dubai position as the premier FDI destination within the MENA region and positions it as the 12th globally, an improvement from its 14th rank in 2021.
