ADIPEC Awards 2023 Recognizes Trailblazers in Advancing Global Energy Transition: In a ceremony held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, the ADIPEC Awards 2023 celebrated the achievements of eight groundbreaking projects, companies, and individuals committed to driving transformative change across the global energy landscape. The honorees hailed from diverse regions, including the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Israel, and the United States.

Themed 'Leading the Transformation,' the 13th ADIPEC Awards Ceremony acknowledged exceptional accomplishments within the broader energy sector. It lauded global innovators in their pursuit of net-zero emissions, decarbonization, and a fair energy transition through eight award categories.

Leaders and dignitaries from the energy, technology, and government sectors attended the ceremony at the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and ADIPEC Awards 2023 Juror, emphasized the significance of the event in the UAE's Year of Sustainability. He expressed pride in attracting innovative companies and individuals to showcase their leadership in advancing the energy transition.

Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chairperson of ADIPEC Awards 2023 and Executive Vice President of Downstream Business Management at ADNOC, highlighted that this year's awards recognized entities playing a crucial role in leading the global energy transition. She noted that the winners would inspire other innovators in the energy sector, encouraging them to strengthen efforts for a more sustainable global energy system.

The awardees included Professor Ernest J. Moniz, CEO of the US-based Energy Futures Initiative, who received the Leader of Change – Passionate Driver of Progress Award. Professor Moniz is renowned for his advocacy of energy innovation pathways and international security matters.

The Young Changemaker of the Year Award went to Lee Kian Seng, Product Manager, Technology Digital Solutions at PETRONAS, Malaysia, for driving transformative changes in various roles, particularly in big-data analytics projects.

The Clean Energy Technology Innovation of the Year Award was presented to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland's Carbon Clean for its CycloneCC technology, reducing carbon capture costs and physical footprint by over 50%.

LanzaTech, an American company, received the Decarbonisation at Scale Award for its innovative carbon capture process deployed at commercial sites in China. The process transforms captured CO2 into sustainable fuels and chemicals, contributing to a circular carbon economy.

Malaysia's PETRONAS Research was named the ADIPEC Awards Developing Economies Energy Company of the Year for its technology solution capturing and monetizing stranded high carbon dioxide fields in developing countries.

ADNOC received the Future Energy Workforce Development Programme Award for its joint initiative with SLB, the Energy Futures Initiative, using innovative methodologies and AI-powered talent analytics for workforce development.

Israel's H2Pro was honored with the Transformative Hydrogen Project Award for its E-TAC methodology, producing green hydrogen at 95% energy efficiency compared to conventional electrolysis.

The Game-Changing Partnership Award went to ADNOC Onshore and the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) for their collaboration enabling ADNOC Onshore to source renewable energy for its grid power, supporting the decarbonization of operations.

With a record-breaking 1,072 entries from 78 countries, this year's ADIPEC Awards reflected a global response to key challenges in universal access to cleaner and more secure energy. The awards are an integral part of ADIPEC, the world's largest energy conference and exhibition, taking place in Abu Dhabi from October 2 to 5 under the theme 'Decarbonising. Faster. Together.' The event aims to unite industries in accelerating collective, responsible action to decarbonize and future-proof the energy system.
