The thirty-second meeting of the Gulf Technical Committee for Electrical and Electronic Standards, comprising working groups on electric vehicle chargers and water heaters, concluded today in Doha. This event was organized by the General Authority for Standardization and Metrology in Qatar and spanned four days, gathering experts and specialists representing various countries.
During the meeting, the agenda was reviewed and approved, including the recommendations outlined in the minutes of the previous meeting. The committee also assessed the progress made on these recommendations. Furthermore, they deliberated and approved a draft specification outlining requirements for energy efficiency labels and minimum energy consumption standards for air conditioners. Additionally, the Gulf standard for terrestrial broadcasting receivers was discussed.
The meeting also covered modifications to cable specifications and the presentation of the committee's plan for the years 2022 and 2023. There was a proposal to standardize charger types for smartphones and electronic devices, as well as requests for updates to existing specifications.
