National Elections 2023 - 22 Electronic Voting Machines at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi to Streamline the Electoral Process
The Zayed University electoral center in Abu Dhabi witnessed a surge of voters from as early as nine in the morning, as they cast their votes for the Federal National Council elections. The voting process was remarkably swift, taking less than five minutes.
It's worth noting that various segments of society displayed eagerness to participate in this electoral celebration, including senior citizens who flocked to the polling stations. The event was marked by an exceptional organizational atmosphere led by a group of dedicated Emirati volunteers.
Saeed Salem Al Kaabi, the head of the Zayed University's electoral committee, remarked in a statement to the UAE news agency that the flow of voters began early, and the voting process proceeded with great ease and convenience. Over 35 volunteers actively assisted voters, ensuring they completed the voting process smoothly. Upon arrival at the electoral center, voters were guided through all the necessary procedures to facilitate the voting process.
He explained that the United Arab Emirates was currently witnessing a distinguished electoral celebration that engaged all the nation's residents. He also highlighted the significant participation of senior citizens, conveying an important message to future generations regarding the significance of positive and effective political engagement in shaping a prosperous future for the nation.
Al Kaabi revealed that there were 22 electronic voting machines at the center, with designated pathways to allow determined individuals to enter and follow the voting process, including a brief training session before voting.
He further noted that the hybrid voting system had proven to save time and effort in the electoral process, with the electoral centers efficiently ensuring the smooth progress of the election.
In a related context, several volunteers expressed their pride and joy in participating in the Federal National Council elections, thanking the National Electoral Commission for the support it provided them, enabling them to fulfill their roles effectively.
They emphasized that their presence in the electoral process was a national duty, and the remarkable participation of the state's population in the Federal National Council elections reflected their strong political awareness and their desire to shoulder their responsibilities by choosing their representatives in the National Council.
