Shura Member: Growing Political Participation of Bahraini Women to Enhance Their National Role and Achievements
Hala Ramzi Fayez, a member of the Shura Council and a member of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU)'s Bureau of Women Parliamentarians, emphasized that the increasing political engagement of women in Bahrain will further deepen their accomplishments, successes, and contributions to national progress and development.
She pointed out that the sustainability of the progress made by Bahraini women reflects the attention and support they receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Fayez expressed her pride in the national initiatives and strategies aimed at providing broader opportunities for Bahraini women to strengthen their position and national role, while acknowledging the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of HM the King and the President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
Hala Ramzi Fayez made these remarks while presiding over a panel discussion at the "Women Parliamentarian Forum," held on the sidelines of the 147th Assembly and related meetings of the IPU, which are currently being hosted by Angola.
The session was dedicated to discussing a draft resolution submitted by the IPU's Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights, titled "Orphanage Trafficking: The Role of Parliaments in Reducing Harm."
During the panel discussion, Fayez highlighted that Bahraini women, as active members of the legislative branch, are committed to presenting legislative perspectives and initiatives aimed at strengthening legal protection for all segments of society, including orphans who receive significant care from both official and private institutions.
