Cairo, October 14 / Members of the Federal National Council group in the Arab Parliament, His Excellency Naima Abdullah Al-Sharhan, the Second Vice President of the Council, and His Excellency Ahmed Hamad Bushahab, a Council member, participated in the proceedings of the first plenary session of the fourth session of the third legislature of the Arab Parliament, held today, Saturday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
His Excellency Naima Al-Sharhan, a member of the Commission on Social, Educational, Cultural, and Women's Affairs in the Arab Parliament, stated that the Arab Parliament's session included discussions on various political, economic, social, and legal matters. She explained that the four commissions of the Arab Parliament presented their reports to the plenary session for approval.
Al-Sharhan elaborated on the Commission's reports on Social, Educational, Cultural, and Women's Affairs and provided a summary of the key points discussed during the commission's meeting. These points included the preservation of societal values and principles, as well as resolution projects. Notably, they discussed a draft law aimed at supporting Arab women in volunteer work within the Arab world, in addition to the report on the fifth annual social situation in the Arab world for 2022. She emphasized the significance of launching the Document on the Empowerment of Arab Women, especially in times of conflicts and natural disasters.
In his turn, His Excellency Ahmed Hamad Bushahab, a member of the Commission on Economic and Financial Affairs in the Arab Parliament, announced that the Arab Parliament opened the first session of the fourth session of the third legislature today. During this session, various issues on the Arab scene were addressed. All fields were discussed, in addition to the reports of the commissions, which included the Palestine Commission's report, the report on economic and financial issues, the report on legislative, legal, and human rights issues, the report on the Commission of Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs, and National Security, and the report on the Commission on Social, Educational, Cultural, Women's, and Youth Affairs.
He stressed that the Economic Committee's report included several crucial aspects, notably the Arab draft law on promoting investments in renewable and clean energy sectors in the Arab world, and the ongoing preparations for the second edition of the Arab Forum on enhancing economic integration among Arab countries.
