A session titled "Collaboration - Access and Relationships" explored the development and significance of accessing archives as a societal issue through the use of technology to revitalize records. Another session, "Sustainability of Public Documents," discussed the sustainability of administrative technological documents and the protection of digital archives.
The session "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning" examined the application of artificial intelligence techniques in e-government, featuring an analysis of countries like Sweden, Finland, and South Africa. It also discussed user perspectives on using artificial intelligence to manage records at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa.
The "New Professionals" session delved into the relationship between archiving professionals and volunteers, while the "Social Media Tools and Records" session discussed cross-border access, education, and communication through accessing social media records as a challenge to the state of accessing national archive records worldwide.
The "Archives and Climate Change" session explored how archives can contribute to saving the planet through recording, research, and reducing carbon footprint. Additionally, the "Archives and Conflicts" session examined the negative impacts of armed conflict and its consequences on national and subnational archives and government department archives through archival diplomacy.
The 19th edition of the 2023 Congress includes a series of events aimed at promoting communication and knowledge exchange among archival professionals worldwide. These events encompass seminars and scholarly lectures covering various archival topics, cultural and artistic events, including the heritage of the Emirates and diverse global cultures. There are also consultation sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing collaboration and knowledge sharing among archival experts, as well as exhibitions and special presentations showcasing the latest archival technologies and tools.
