SRTI Park Secures 'Ecosystem Enabler of the Year' Accolade from Entrepreneur Middle East: In a notable achievement, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) clinched the prestigious 'Ecosystem Enabler of the Year 2022' award from Entrepreneur Middle East magazine. This recognition underscores SRTIP's role as the preeminent incubation center for startups within the region.
The award ceremony, held recently at the Tech Innovation Awards in Dubai, aimed to spotlight individuals and businesses shaping the landscape of the tech industry in the region.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, the CEO of SRTI Park, expressed his appreciation for the acknowledgment, stating, "Over the past four years, SRTI Park has tirelessly pursued its mission to become the ultimate innovation hub for local, regional, and international companies. This award unequivocally validates our position as facilitators of groundbreaking ideas, advocates, and partners for startups with disruptive concepts. We view this as just the beginning of our accomplishments as we strive to foster and fund some of the most brilliant entrepreneurs and startups globally."
Al Mahmoudi highlighted SRTI Park's leadership in startup investments, citing investments exceeding $100 million in research for solutions spanning transportation, agriculture, renewable energy, 3D printing, AR, and VR. Currently, over 2,000 companies operate within SRTI Park.
He went on to describe the vibrant atmosphere at SRTI Park, citing examples such as Lightyear, a Dutch startup pioneering the world's first long-range production-ready solar electric vehicle, conducting testing facilities on-site. Additionally, the development of high-speed hanging skypods capable of transporting people and freight at speeds of 150kph is progressing rapidly, and large-scale additive manufacturing is underway.
Al Mahmoudi also announced the selection of seven startups for the 3rd Sharjah Advanced Industry Accelerator (SAIA) program, providing them with the opportunity to integrate into the SRTI Park ecosystem, gain access to regional markets, and enjoy various benefits. He emphasized that such accolades serve as motivation to intensify efforts towards their goal of being a significant contributor to the national knowledge economy.
