In a ceremony graced by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, and President of the Presidential Diwan, the International Archives Council Congress - Abu Dhabi 2023 officially commenced today. The congress is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) and will continue until October 13th.
This year's congress, operating under the theme "Enriching Knowledge Communities," brings together experts and specialists in the field of archives, alongside thought leaders from around the world. Their aim is to explore the transformative capacities of information provision and accessibility in modern societies.
The congress focuses on five main pillars: "Peace and Tolerance," "Emerging Technologies - Records and Electronic Solutions," "Trust and Evidence," "Accessibility and Memories," and "Sustainable Knowledge and a Sustainable Planet... Archives and Climate Change."
