Fujairah Emerges as a Leading Global Sports Destination for Champions
Fujairah, October 5- His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, confirmed that the emirate has become a global destination for major sports tournaments and events, as well as a hub for meetings and sporting competitions among champions in various sports. This transformation was achieved thanks to the insightful vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Fujairah, who recognized sports as a vital pillar in the nation's development and growth process.
This announcement came during his morning reception at the Rumaila Palace, where he met with Rafael Santoja, President of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the United Arab Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and members of the Supreme Council Organizing Committee for the Amateur and Professional Bodybuilding World Championships, "Ms & Mr. World." The meeting coincided with the launch of the tournament hosted by the emirate until October 7th, featuring an elite group of champions and prominent figures in the world of bodybuilding, both amateur and professional.
During the meeting, His Highness the Crown Prince was informed by the President of the International Bodybuilding Federation about Fujairah being chosen as the World Capital of Bodybuilding, with the approval of federations representing 204 member countries of the International Federation.
His Highness stated, "The Emirate of Fujairah continues to excel in hosting major sports tournaments that attract a gathering of the most distinguished professional and amateur players. We do this by embracing the highest sports policies and practices that enrich the local sports landscape and play a significant role in enhancing the country's reputation and vision on both regional and international sports stages."
He further added, "The selection of Fujairah as the World Capital of Bodybuilding by the International Federation is a testament to the great trust and prestigious position that the emirate holds in this field. I would like to thank all those who voted for Fujairah's selection. We will work to make the emirate a hub for the promotion of this sport. Strengthening its presence is a means to bring people together, and I would also like to commend the efforts of the organizing committee and the working team that prepared the dossier for the emirate."
During the meeting, attended by members of the executive committee of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, leaders from various international bodybuilding federations, and members of the board of the United Arab Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, His Highness received a detailed explanation of the championship program, its significance, and the level of success it has achieved in recent years. Additionally, he was briefed on the value it has added to the Emirate of Fujairah, the United Arab Emirates Federation, and the International Sports Federation. His Highness also received a detailed presentation on the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation's programs related to the tournaments it organizes and its fruitful cooperation with the United Arab Emirates Federation and the organizing committee.
During the meeting, His Highness emphasized the need to review various details related to the tournament's organization and to provide all the necessary logistical and organizational capabilities to ensure the event's success and the achievement of desired goals, in line with the highest international standards and practices followed in the organization of continental and international tournaments.
The meeting took place in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
