Dubai, United Arab Emirates – January 2023: Starting off the 2024 with a bang, Palazzo Versace Dubai welcomes Ru Williams as the latest resident artist at the renowned Q’s Bar & Lounge! Starting from Wednesday, January 3rd, Ru's eclectic musical renditions promise a blend of soulful R&B vibes, igniting the stage and setting the mood, every Wednesday through Sunday.
Hailing from Hartford, Connecticut, a stop for tour buses en route to big cities like New York and Boston, Ru thrived as the opening act for some of the biggest shows. A cherished hometown sensation, Ru delivered captivating performances, enthralling audiences with his presence, and lighting the stage on fire for the likes of Ne-Yo, Slim (formerly of 112), Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Bobby Valentino, and many more.
Influenced profoundly by icons such as Sam Cooke, James Brown, Boyz II Men, and Stevie Wonder, Ru grasps the essence of delivering stellar performances. A brilliant showman, he believes in blending life into music on stage. Delving deeper into his artistry, Ru began composing music, singing, and collaborating with local producers, in what would become his debut album, "My Life & Music." The album was released digitally in 2010 to critical acclaim, followed by "Deal or No Deal" in 2012, hitting huge milestones in his musical career. Ru’s 2015 release "Overdue," received exceptional reviews, establishing himself in the music industry.
Continuing his musical journey, Ru released his EP "Vibes" in 2020, and most recently introduced "Made 2 Enjoy" in August 2023, describing them as a blend of R&B and Afrobeat, which showcases the ongoing evolution in Ru’s musical style. Having actively promoted his EP and performed across the United States and Africa, Ru defines his craft as a "revival of genuine R&B," showcasing hits like "Your Love" and "Scared of Love." His collaboration with Rick Ross on "Ciroc & Rozay" peaked at number 20 on the urban media base chart, establishing the hit as an electrifying club favourite.
