Saqr Ghobash Meets Interim President of the African Parliament During G20 Parliament Presidents Summit
New Delhi, October 15 - His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council, held a meeting with His Excellency Dr. Achibire Gayo, Interim President of the African Parliament, on the sidelines of the ninth summit of G20 parliamentary leaders in New Delhi.
The meeting took place in the presence of the Federal National Council delegation, including His Excellency Marwan Al Muhairi, Mira Al Suwaidi, and Dr. Nidal Al Tunaiji, council members. Also in attendance were His Excellency Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, the Secretary-General of the Council, Afra Al Basti, Deputy Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication, and Tariq Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Deputy Secretary-General for Council Presidency Affairs.
During the meeting, discussions centered on strengthening the cooperative relations between the Federal National Council and the African Parliament, with the aim of reinforcing the existing relations between the United Arab Emirates and the countries of the African continent.
Both parties emphasized the importance of coordinating and exchanging their experiences and knowledge, as well as aligning their visions and positions in international parliamentary forums. They highlighted the role played by parliaments in promoting cultural and civilizational dialogue among the world's peoples, bringing them closer together, building bridges of civilizational communication, and emphasizing the significance of unified efforts to maintain security, stability, and peace.
