Saud bin Saqr Acknowledges Energy Management Teams in Ras Al Khaimah for International Accreditation Achievement
Ras Al Khaimah, October 12 - His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the sovereign of Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed that the adoption of sustainability concepts and the enhancement of energy management and renewable energy efficiency within the government's methodology in both the public and private sectors aligns with the United Arab Emirates' national program goals to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, ensuring sustainable development and the preservation of natural resources for future generations.
This occurred during His Highness's reception of the energy management teams from Ras Al Khaimah government agencies on the occasion of all Ras Al Khaimah government departments obtaining international accreditation for energy management systems - ISO 50001. This achievement makes it the first government worldwide to attain this international accreditation for all its departments.
His Highness stated, "In light of the United Arab Emirates' preparations to host the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), we in Ras Al Khaimah seek to strengthen our efforts to implement sustainable development principles and encourage new initiatives and projects that contribute to shaping a more sustainable future for generations to come. In line with our country's ambitions and its ongoing efforts to address global challenges in the field of climate change impact through international cooperation and dialogue."
He added, "This achievement marks a significant step towards realizing the goals of Ras Al Khaimah's 2040 energy efficiency and renewable energy strategy. Through it, we reaffirm our commitment to consolidate best practices and adopt innovative and pioneering solutions and policies in the field of renewable energy and sustainability in both the public and private sectors in Ras Al Khaimah, ensuring the achievement of sustainable development and the construction of a brighter and better future for all."
His Highness praised the efforts of the working teams from the various government departments in Ras Al Khaimah for achieving this global milestone, emphasizing the need to continue working to preserve these accomplishments and make significant progress towards achieving the goals of the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies 2040 strategy.
