New Vessel Arrives at Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait as Part of Ro-Ro Freight Transport Service via Khalifa Port
ABU DHABI, Safin Group, an affiliate of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, celebrated the arrival of the "SSF Anya" vessel at Kuwait's Shuwaikh Port within the recently launched Ro-Ro transport service. The service aims to enhance commercial and logistical connectivity and facilitate trade with the brotherly state of Kuwait.
The introduction of this new service seeks to alleviate the burden of long-distance road travel for truck drivers, reduce associated risks, and support environmental preservation efforts by decreasing carbon emissions. Drivers will have designated accommodations on board the vessel, enabling them to focus solely on managing the first and last mile of the pickup and delivery process, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Safin Group is committed to improving the efficiency of logistics transport operations, as the new roll-on freight shipping service directly connects the United Arab Emirates and the brotherly state of Kuwait, eliminating the need for crossing additional borders, saving effort and time, and providing faster and more efficient operations.
The "SSF Anya" vessel has been tailored to meet the requirements of the new roll-on freight transport service. It is a vessel fully managed by Safin Group and equipped to accommodate clients utilizing specific types of vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, in addition to exclusively transporting heavy goods between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, with a total loading capacity of 160 trucks and 46 cars and a track capacity of 2,062 meters. In addition to its unique design, the SSF Anya vessel has ample capacity to transport various other rolling goods, including cars, project machinery, and heavy equipment.
While land transport allows a maximum of 25 tons per trailer, the SSF Anya can accommodate up to 50 tons per trailer. This significant increase in freight capacity saves a considerable amount of time and reduces the number of trailers required, effectively contributing to sustainability goals.

It is worth noting that the launch of this new service follows the earlier introduction of the weekly container transport service from Khalifa Port to Shuwaikh Port earlier this year.
