ILTM Asia Pacific

ILTM Asia Pacific: The International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia Pacific is preparing for its largest edition yet. With 650 international buyers set to attend this year's show at Marina Bay Sands from July 1st to 4th, 2024, it's evident that interest is soaring.

Steve O’Loughlin, ILTM Hosted Buyers Manager, shared with TTG Asia. This year 650 accredited buyers represent a 28% increase from 2023. Thirty-six percent are from Australia and New Zealand, while over 100 luxury buyers will be from China. Double the number from 2023.

Notably, nine percent are from India, which is another key region for ILTM.

India travel scene is burgeoning, with plans for more airports in the next four to five years. Promising a surge in outbound travel. We must keep ahead of the curve by engaging buyers involved in India's wealth growth, he added.

This growth mirrors the strong interest in travel across the region and aligns with the anticipated increase in spending on leisure travel projects by outbound travelers.

According to O’Loughlin, ILTM's buyer selection process is meticulous. They identify and invite proven senior decision-makers, ensuring a high level of industry engagement. Buyers must demonstrate dealings with high-net-worth individuals and have an annual income of at least one million pounds (1.3 million US dollars) to qualify.

During the event's three days, buyers will have 54 pre-scheduled 15-minute appointments, allowing ample time for meaningful connections. Additionally, they can participate in various networking opportunities during the Opening Forum and Closing Party. Moreover, at this year's edition, buyers can look forward to meeting representatives from more European and Japanese destinations.

There's been a notable increase in flights from Asia-Pacific to Europe. As evidenced by the presence of European hotels at the exhibition. Inbound travel to Japan is also experiencing incredible growth, with consumers now exploring other prefectures like Okinawa, explained O’Loughlin.

Among the notable exhibitors are the Los Angeles Tourism Bureau, Edition Hotels, Banyan Tree, Wilderness Safaris, Avalon Waterways, and Uniworld.
