Hamdan bin Zayed Attends the Final Day of the Al Dhafra Festival Inaugural Camel Racing Competition

The 15th of October witnessed the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, at the final day of the inaugural Al Dhafra Festival camel racing competition. This event was organized under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.

The festival, which took place at the Al Dhafra Camel Racetrack in the city of Zayed, Al Dhafra region, was also graced by the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the advisor to the President of the UAE and the Chairman of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, Sheikh Yas bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, and Mr. Ahmed Matar Al Zaheri, the Head of the Office of the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra region, along with Mr. Nasser Mohammed Al Mansoori, the Deputy Head of the Office of the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra region, and several senior officials.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan observed various stages of the festival, which was held under his patronage, and was joined by tribal dignitaries, camel racing enthusiasts, and individuals from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the commitment of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, to support all heritage events and sports in the country, including the inaugural Al Dhafra Festival camel racing competition. Such events play a vital role in educating the younger generations, preserving the heritage, and safeguarding the authentic customs and traditions.

He highlighted that hosting such heritage festivals shines a spotlight on the importance of revitalizing the country's cultural heritage and aligns with the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, in supporting these races and ensuring their continuity across generations.

Sheikh Hamdan commended the efforts of the organizing committee of the festival for their excellent preparation and organization, ensuring the success of the event in its first edition. He extended congratulations to the winners and wished all participants luck and success in the upcoming races.

The final day of the festival witnessed the crowning of "Ouslin," owned by Abdulaziz Saif Sowailm Al Ketbi, as the first champion of the young camels in the principal round. "Shawash," owned by Al Jaidan, secured the title of the second round of the principal open race. "Nada," owned by Khalifa Sultan Al Rashidi Al Sweidi, emerged victorious in the third round of the novice race.

In the fourth round of the young camels' race, "Munzah," owned by Hamad Jarallah Al Breidi, captured the title with the emblem "Shidad." "Mudhiyar," owned by Abdullah Mohammed Zayed Al Mansoori, claimed victory in the fifth round dedicated to the production category.

The sixth round saw "Al Nashmi" winning the young camels' race, belonging to Al Jaidan, with Ahmed Obaid Al Noor receiving the prize for his performance in this round.

In the seventh round, dedicated to the young camels of the production category, "Shadayid" took flight with the cup, bearing the emblem of Aamer Mohammed Zayed Al Mansoori.

The festival concluded with "Shadid" claiming victory in the eighth round, which was part of the production category.
