Today, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy King, held a meeting with the recently appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain, HE Alastair Long, at Gudaibiya Palace.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness underscored the longstanding and robust relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, underpinned by solid foundations and strategic partnerships. The Deputy King emphasized Bahrain's commitment to enhancing these bilateral relations to achieve shared aspirations.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Long and expressed his best wishes for the successful fulfillment of his diplomatic duties. The Deputy King also emphasized the increasing collaboration between the UK and Bahrain across various sectors, facilitated by mutual visits and collaborative agreements.

Furthermore, His Royal Highness affirmed the significance of promoting peace, security, and prosperity, as well as supporting the Kingdom's development for the benefit of all. The Deputy King acknowledged the pivotal role of the UK, in conjunction with allied nations, in safeguarding regional and global security and stability.

The meeting also encompassed discussions on regional and global developments, matters of common interest, and strategies to further enhance Bahrain-UK cooperation in pursuit of mutual goals.
