Brain Week 2025 in the Alpes-Maritimes

Brain Week 2025 will take place from March 10 to 16, 2025, in the Alpes-Maritimes, featuring a series of scientific and educational events aimed at raising public awareness of the latest brain research advances. These events are co-organized by the University of Côte d'Azur, the CHU of Nice, the CNRS, the IPMC, and their partners, and will be held in various locations across the region.

Event 1: Morning Session on Brain & Obesity, Diabetes, Addiction, and More...

Date and Time: Monday, March 10, 2025, at 9:15 AM

Location: Le Galet, Hôpital Pasteur 2, Nice

Description: This morning session will address the complex relationships between the brain and various conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and addiction. A roundtable discussion will bring together several experts in the field to discuss the latest research and its implications for healthcare.

Speakers:

  • Prof. Jacques Noël: Researcher at the IPMC and Lecturer at the University of Côte d'Azur (UniCA), co-organizer of Brain Week in the Alpes-Maritimes.
  • Ms. Signe Andersen: Neuropsychologist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the CHU of Nice.
  • Prof. Denys Fontaine: Neurosurgeon, Deputy Head of the Neurosciences-IULS Department at the CHU of Nice, and co-responsible for the UR2CA PIN team.
  • Dr. Mikaël Cohen: Neurologist at the CHU of Nice, member of the UR2CA URRIS team.
  • Dr. Bruno Giordana: Psychiatrist at the CHU of Nice, member of the UR2CA PIN team.

  • Prof. Fabien Almairac: Neurosurgeon at the CHU of Nice, member of the UR2CA PIN team.

  • Dr. Michel Lanteri-Minet: Neurologist in the Department of Pain Assessment and Treatment at the CHU of Nice, co-responsible for the UR2CA PIN team.

Event 2: 8th Brain & Health Day

Date and Time: Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Location: Le Galet, Hôpital Pasteur 2, Nice

Description: This day will be dedicated to brain health research. The detailed program and speakers are the same as those for the Morning Session, offering a deeper dive into the latest scientific advances.

Event 3: Movie Debate "A Brain Far Too Polluted"

Date and Time: Friday, March 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM

Location: Cinéma Pathé Gare du Sud, Nice

Description: This movie debate will feature the documentary *"Tomorrow, All Idiots?"* directed by Sylvie Gilman and Thierry De Lestrade. Following the screening, a discussion led by Prof. Nicolas Chevalier, a doctor at the CHU of Nice, will address the impact of environmental pollutants on the human brain.

A Common Goal: Raise Awareness and Inform

The main objective of these events is to raise public awareness about recent discoveries in neuroscience and their impact on daily life. By highlighting the challenges associated with brain disorders and the innovative solutions being developed, Brain Week 2025 will be a key moment to exchange knowledge and learn.
