As part of the National Reading Month 2025 activities, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation has launched the "Knowledge Lounge" in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, in collaboration with the Federal Youth Foundation of the UAE, represented by the Global Youth Council in Australia. This initiative aims to promote knowledge and enhance its pathways among Emirati and Arab youth abroad, particularly scholarship students, to strengthen their connections with the Emirati community.
This event aligns with the Foundation's commitment to expanding its global outreach through innovative initiatives and purposeful programs that contribute to enriching the knowledge of the young Emirati and Arab generation, fostering their connection to the Arab knowledge community.
Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, emphasized the importance of this event in building a global knowledge community based on creativity. He stated, "The 'Knowledge Lounge' is part of the Foundation's efforts to promote knowledge and encourage intellectual interaction in communities. It is also part of our continuous efforts to expand the horizons of Emirati and Arab youth abroad by providing a platform that connects them, offering support to enrich their knowledge and experiences and strengthening their ties to their native communities. This helps empower young minds to explore new horizons and solidify the role of knowledge as a cornerstone for progress and prosperity."
He added, "We are committed to actively participating in Reading Month, believing in the central role knowledge plays in building societies. Through this, we aim to organize events that enhance the culture of reading and stimulate generations to explore and learn continuously, in alignment with our nation's vision to enhance its position as a leading global hub for knowledge and intellectual thought."
On his part, Khaled Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Foundation, stated that "youth play a crucial role in supporting national directions through impactful initiatives with tangible social effects at the international level. The 'Knowledge Lounge' initiative launched in Sydney and Melbourne during the National Reading Month 2025 represents a significant step, giving Emirati youth an opportunity to engage in intellectual and cultural exchange with the Arab knowledge community. It also contributes to building bridges for global creative cooperation, reflecting the importance of promoting a reading culture as a key source for innovation and growth to inspire future generations to excel and achieve promising accomplishments in various fields."

Nour Al Ali, Chairperson of the Global Youth Council of the UAE in Australia, highlighted: "Knowledge is one of the pillars of youth development, especially for students abroad.
