Experience the world premiere of "Agra," the highly anticipated film selected for the feature film competition at the 2023 Directors' Fortnight in Cannes.
Directed by @kanubehl and produced by @Saregama, this gripping 132-minute drama delves into the harsh reality of Indian patriarchy through the lens of male sexual frustration.
Follow Guru, an employee at a call center who still lives with his parents, as he spirals into a near-deranged state of desperation, navigating through pitiful fantasies, dating apps, and hysterical outbursts. "Agra" is not only a compelling portrayal of personal turmoil, but also a metaphorical journey of self-liberation through the pursuit of property ownership.
Filmmaker Kanu Behl, a graduate of the @SatyajitRay Film and TV Institute, has made his mark in the industry with his thought-provoking works. From his debut documentary "An Actor Prepares" competing at the Cinéma du Réel in Paris in 2007, to co-writing the critically acclaimed film "LSD: Love, Sex and Delusion," Kanu Behl's talent as a storyteller shines through.
His first feature film as both director and screenwriter, "Titli," was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.
Join the exceptional cast, including Mohit Agarwal as Guru, Priyanka Bose as Priti, and Vibha Chibber as the mother, in this compelling cinematic journey.
The film's technical team, led by cinematographer Saurabh Monga, sound designer Gautier Isern, production designer Parul Sondh, and editors Samarth Dixit and Nitesh Bhatia, brings the story to life with their remarkable skills. The mesmerizing music by Karan Gour adds another layer of depth to the film.
