Abdallah bin Zayed and Chilean Foreign Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations and Global Climate Action in Santiago
Santiago, October 3 - His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Alberto Van Klaveren, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Chile, held discussions on enhancing bilateral relations between their two nations across various sectors during a meeting in the capital, Santiago. This meeting took place as part of His Highness's official visit to the Republic of Chile, which is part of his tour of several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Alberto Van Klaveren explored avenues for bilateral cooperation in numerous fields, including economics, investments, energy, climate change, and more. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During their bilateral talks, His Excellency Alberto Van Klaveren, the Chilean Foreign Minister, was briefed on the United Arab Emirates' preparations to host the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) in the upcoming months of November and December.
His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the UAE's commitment to building positive and constructive partnerships with the Republic of Chile and other friendly South American countries, with a keen interest in leveraging all available opportunities to enhance joint cooperation, thereby supporting sustainable global development paths in societies.
In response, His Excellency Alberto Van Klaveren welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the accompanying delegation, expressing his country's eagerness to strengthen bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates on multiple levels.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs, and His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to the Republic of Chile.
