Media Role in Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative Highlighted at Global Forum in China
BEIJING, October 12 - His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, the Director General of the United Arab Emirates' press agency, emphasized the pivotal role of media in supporting the "Belt and Road Initiative." He underscored how media can contribute to the renaissance and development of nations while spreading values of tolerance and coexistence among their people, ultimately fostering global security and stability. His Excellency highlighted the media cooperation established through agreements with various Chinese and global media institutions by the United Arab Emirates' press agency, WAM, to further the interests of the "Belt and Road Initiative," launched in 2013.
These remarks were delivered during his speech at the "11th Global Video Media Forum," hosted by the "China Media Group" in Beijing under the theme "A Shared Vision for a Better Future." The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Department of Publicity of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and President of the China Media Group. Also in attendance were Sun Yi, Deputy Head of the Department of Publicity of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Grégoire Jaka, CEO of the African Union of Radio and Television, Ahmed Nadeem, Secretary-General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, and several other prominent figures from the global media industry.
During his address, His Excellency highlighted the significant role of the "Belt and Road Initiative" in promoting economic and cultural cooperation between countries, fostering economic growth, developing infrastructure, and achieving sustainable global development, particularly in the Middle East region.
Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Department of Publicity of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Editor-in-Chief of the China Media Group, confirmed that the "Belt and Road Initiative" had become a tangible reality over the past decade, thanks to the collective efforts of participating nations. He commended the positive contribution of the China Media Group in telling China's stories in the new era and sharing international tales related to the Belt and Road through innovative media, content, and imagery.
In his address, Sun Yi, Deputy Head of the Department of Publicity of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, stressed the pivotal role of media in strengthening China's cooperation with other countries. The video forum offered global journalists a privileged opportunity to exchange ideas and enhance cooperation.
Ahmed Nadeem, Secretary-General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, highlighted the ongoing development of the partnership with the China Media Group through media cooperation along the Belt and Road, benefiting participating countries of the initiative.
At the conclusion of the event, participants signed the "Beijing Declaration," released by the "11th Global Video Media Forum," underlining the importance of media in building the Belt and Road and improving communication between people at all levels worldwide.
