International Magazine Commends Abu Dhabi Police for Embracing European Model of Quality and Excellence

Abu Dhabi, September 19 - The International Journal of Police Sciences and Administration has applauded the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters for its global leadership in adopting the European model of quality management as an effective framework for achieving organizational excellence within law enforcement agencies. The journal also highlighted the department's pioneering role during the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022 when it demonstrated exceptional flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing circumstances worldwide.

The magazine conducted an analytical study titled "Organizational Excellence Development: Applying Benchmarking to Guide and Measure the Performance of Law Enforcement Agencies - A Case Study of Abu Dhabi Police," which delved into the institutional development achievements of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters in recent years.

The study shed light on Abu Dhabi Police's journey towards excellence and leadership by adopting the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model, culminating in the prestigious recognition of receiving a 6-star rating from the Global EFQM Excellence Award in 2020. This marked Abu Dhabi Police as the world's first law enforcement agency to achieve this distinction under the European model of excellence.

The case study employed an analytical descriptive methodology, drawing from over a thousand pages of documents that showcased the Abu Dhabi Police's quest to achieve the highest standards of quality in organizational excellence on a global scale. It also highlighted their pioneering role in various critical law enforcement areas, including community policing, along with their international benchmarking practices against law enforcement agencies worldwide.

The study enlisted experts and researchers in organizational excellence and law enforcement from around the world, including Dr. Peter Nierode, an associate professor at the Jerry Lee Center for Experimental Criminology at the University of Cambridge; Major General Khalfan Abdullah Al Mansoori, Director of the Strategic and Institutional Development Center at the Abu Dhabi Police; Dr. Amanda Davies, a researcher and expert in policing, security, emergency management, and education; and Dr. Faisal Al Kaabi, Dean of the Readiness College at the Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi.

It is worth noting that the International Journal of Police Sciences and Administration is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to specialized academic research within the criminal justice system, law, law enforcement, and operational practices of law enforcement agencies. It is ranked among the top 20 peer-reviewed international journals in the field of law.
