Social Security: Updating Employer and Beneficiary Data Enhances Electronic Services Quality
Abu Dhabi, September 18 - The General Authority for Pensions and Social Insurance has urged employers to update their employees' information responsible for business transactions on their behalf through the authority's electronic systems, in addition to updating the beneficiaries' data in the authority's systems. This includes salary details, job titles, and contact information such as addresses, phone numbers, personal email addresses, place of residence, registration summary, passport, job status, and health and social status.
The authority stated that updating this information enhances the quality of electronic services provided to these groups and expedites their processing. Furthermore, it serves the quality of data linkage between the authority and all its partners in the government sector, whether existing operations or those planned for the future. It also serves national projects initiated by the government, such as the "NAFIS" project, which is a significant model for intergovernmental cooperation to provide outstanding services to their beneficiaries.
The authority emphasized that providing initiatives and innovative solutions with a personal touch in delivering services is one of the strategies the authority is planning to implement in its future projects. Therefore, the more up-to-date the data of the beneficiaries of its services are, the easier it is to carry out these projects and achieve the desired results in the future.
In this context, the authority pointed out that data updating doesn't just pertain to the mentioned data. It extends to current transactions for employers on the authority's systems, whether they relate to them or the beneficiaries under their coverage. These transactions include registering an employer, registering a beneficiary, paying the due contributions, mergers and acquisitions, end-of-service transactions, transfer service, unfitness service, and other services that may not be fully available in the current system.
Regarding contribution payments, the authority explained that in the private sector, contributions for the insured are settled annually, based on the contribution account for January of each year. No increases are considered in the insured's contribution account throughout the year unless they are retroactive from the beginning of January of the same year. If no retroactive increases are made, they are considered in January of the following year. For those joining the private sector after January, contributions are calculated based on the month they join until January of the new year. In the government sector, contributions for the insured are calculated based on the actual contribution account for each month.
Private sector employers are required to provide the authority with updates on the salaries of their employees and their monthly contributions every January. They should also provide any changes in the number of employees or their salaries on a monthly basis. If this data is not provided on time, contributions are calculated based on the last information provided to the authority until the actual contributions are calculated. Contribution payments are due by the end of the month they are due and can be made until the fifteenth day of the following month.
Regarding contributions during leave, the authority clarified that in the case of paid leave, both the insured and the employer are responsible for contributions in their respective proportions. However, for unpaid leaves such as accompanying a spouse or educational leave without pay, the insured individual is responsible for paying the full contributions for themselves and the employer.
The proactive approach of the General Authority for Pensions and Social Insurance in enhancing the quality of electronic services is a testament to its commitment to providing efficient and effective services to the public. Updating data not only streamlines processes but also ensures that beneficiaries receive the support they need promptly and accurately. This initiative is a crucial step towards achieving the government's goal of delivering exceptional services to its citizens and residents.
