Stunning Chocolate Dresses Grace the Dubai Runway – A Unique Fusion of Fashion and Pastry

Thirteen models took to the catwalk in Dubai, showcasing stunning and one-of-a-kind creations that combined the worlds of fashion and pastry. The occasion was a unique chocolate festival, where long veils adorned with chocolate trimmings, solid chocolate headpieces, and belts made of macarons stole the spotlight.

The Salon Du Chocolat trade show, a renowned event that has been celebrated across the globe for almost three decades, made its return to Galeries Lafayette at Dubai Mall. For three days, the festival treated attendees to a delightful chocolate extravaganza.

The runway came alive as the thirteen models gracefully strutted their stuff, donning exquisite dresses entirely made of chocolate. This extraordinary tribute to fashion and pastry was made possible by the collaboration between talented designers and pastry chefs, who dedicated months of hard work to bring these edible masterpieces to life. Let take a closer look at some of the highlights:

  1. Rihanna: The show opened with a jaw-dropping creation designed by Chef Charles Azar and fashion designer Michelle Kisaayke Aber. This piece paid homage to the award-winning singer Rihanna and her iconic fashion statements that have influenced the industry throughout her career. The dress incorporated flowers, stones, and, of course, delectable chocolate.
  2. Josephine Baker: Inspired by the French dancer famous banana skirt, this dress was a collaboration between executive pastry chef Julien Jacob from Jumeriah Al Naseem and fashion designer Deanthe Somaiah.
  3. Audrey Hepburn: Chef Brice Konan-Ferrand from Ecole Valrhona Pastry Chef and designer Raghida Tabch joined forces to create a dress that captured the essence of actress Audrey Hepburn floral prints from the movie Funny Face.
  4. Queen Elizabeth the First: Designed by Chef Edmond Roukoz and fashion designer Yasmaman Tarazi, this regal piece featured a solid chocolate wand and butterfly wings, paying tribute to the influential fashion sense of Queen Elizabeth I.
  5. Madonna: A true show-stopper, this creation was as bold and captivating as the singer herself. Designed by Chef Christiane S. Trilck and fashion designer Juliane Knips, the dress was adorned with hundreds of chocolate balls. The ensemble was completed with an edible chocolate microphone.
  6. Marie Antoinette: Reflecting the fashion-forward style of the iconic queen, this dress featured a flowing trail and an iconic hat. Chef Ashwani Pathania Kumar and fashion designer Takwa Alfaisal collaborated to pay homage to Marie Antoinette extravagantly decorated dresses.
  7. Lady Di: The grand finale showcased a masterpiece designed by award-winning chef Karim Bourgi and designer Lynn Accad. Jihane Daghar of Maman chocolate wore this piece as a tribute to the late Princess Diana, who continues to be revered as a fashion icon due to her impeccable taste.

The runway event truly celebrated the marriage of fashion and pastry, showcasing breathtaking dresses crafted entirely out of chocolate. These edible works of art mesmerized audiences, proving that creativity knows no bounds when it comes to the world of chocolate.
