Etihad Airways Resumes Direct Flights to Düsseldorf

Etihad Airways Resumes Direct Flights to Düsseldorf

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has resumed its direct flights to Düsseldorf International Airport in Germany by launching its inaugural flight last Thursday. With this development, Düsseldorf becomes the third destination in Germany for Etihad Airways, joining Munich and Frankfurt.

The resumption of air travel serves to strengthen the close relations between the United Arab Emirates and Germany, specifically the North Rhine-Westphalia region. This new air link opens up promising avenues for tourism and business projects between the two countries. As part of this cooperation, three weekly flights will be initiated to reestablish the connection between Abu Dhabi and Düsseldorf.

In this context, Frank Meyer, Etihad Airways' Chief Digital Officer, shared with the United Arab Emirates' news agency that the reconnection between Abu Dhabi and Düsseldorf would facilitate the exchange of experiences and cultures. He emphasized the significance of this cooperation in attracting travelers from Düsseldorf, a city known for its rich cultural diversity. Meyer also highlighted the role of Abu Dhabi International Airport's new terminal, promising a fresh and unique experience for travelers.

Edward Fotheringham, Vice President of Global Sales at Etihad Airways, expressed his enthusiasm on the sidelines of the inaugural flight to Düsseldorf, stating, "With this inaugural flight, we are delighted to reconnect Abu Dhabi and North Rhine-Westphalia. We approach this connection with optimism and eagerness, aiming to enhance the partnership's prosperity with Düsseldorf Airport."

He added, "The return of flights to Düsseldorf underscores Etihad Airways' commitment to the German market and reflects the flexible and growing relationship between the two cities. The airline is designed to support trade, cultural exchanges, and business connections, providing travelers with a direct corridor between these destinations. Etihad operates this route with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering 28 business class studio seats and 271 smart economy class seats, ensuring a seamless experience for travelers. Weekly flights will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
