OpenAI Launches GPT Store and Unveils ChatGPT Team Subscription: A year after the introduction of ChatGPT, OpenAI announced at its inaugural developers' conference, OpenAI DevDay, the opening of access to GPT-Builder for ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise subscribers. GPT-Builder is a tool enabling them to create customized versions of ChatGPT, the GPTs. The GPT Store, where users can share these versions publicly and potentially receive compensation, is now available, slightly behind the initial schedule.
According to OpenAI's blog, over 3 million customized versions of ChatGPT have been created since the conference. The company also revealed the rollout of the GPT Store for users of ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, and its new offering, ChatGPT Team.
GPT-Builder simplifies GPT creation, requiring no programming knowledge. Users can provide instructions in natural language to create a personalized chatbot.
The GPT Store currently features GPTs in seven categories: DALL-E, writing, productivity, search and analysis, programming, education, and lifestyle. OpenAI plans to showcase new GPTs weekly, highlighting the most "useful" and "impactful" ones.
The company introduced some featured GPTs, including personalized trail recommendations from AllTrails, academic article synthesis with Consensus, programming tutorials from Khan Academy, and presentation design with Canva. Once in the store, GPTs become searchable and can climb in rankings. OpenAI will also spotlight the most useful and enjoyable GPTs in categories such as productivity, education, and lifestyle.
OpenAI will soon launch a compensation program based on GPT usage. Initially, this program will target American creators in the first quarter of 2024. OpenAI has not provided details on subsequent plans.
The New ChatGPT Team Offering
OpenAI leverages the GPT-Store launch to introduce ChatGPT Team, providing access to cutting-edge models: GPT-4 with a 32K context window, GPT-4 Vision, and DALL-E 3, along with tools like advanced data analysis. The offering includes a dedicated collaborative workspace and administrative tools for effective team management. The goal is to enhance team workflow quality by integrating AI into daily organizational processes.
Similar to ChatGPT Enterprise, users have complete control over their business data, with privacy guarantees. ChatGPT Team is priced at $25 per month for annual billing, and there's an option for a month-to-month subscription at $30.
