Fujairah Emerges as a Leading Global Sports Hub, Backed by Prince Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi
FUJAIRAH, - His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, has affirmed that the emirate has risen to become a global destination for major sports tournaments and events, serving as a hub for champions across various disciplines. This transformation is attributed to the insightful vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Fujairah. Sport has been established as an essential pillar in the nation's construction and development process.
This declaration was made during his reception at the Rumaila Palace this morning when he welcomed Rafael Santoja, President of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the United Arab Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and members of the Supreme Council's organizing committee for the World Amateur and Professional Bodybuilding Championships "Ms & Mr. World." The meeting was held in conjunction with the launch of the tournament hosted by the emirate, running until October 7th, featuring an elite group of athletes from around the world, both amateur and professional.
During the meeting, His Highness the Crown Prince was informed by the President of the International Federation of Bodybuilding about Fujairah's selection as the World Capital of Bodybuilding, with unanimous approval from the federations representing 204 member countries of the International Federation.
His Highness stated, "The Emirate of Fujairah continues to excel in hosting major sporting tournaments that bring together a distinguished gathering of professional and amateur athletes. This achievement is a result of our commitment to adopting the highest sports policies and practices, enriching the local sports landscape, and playing a significant role in enhancing our nation's standing on the regional and international sports stage."
He added, "The International Federation's decision to name Fujairah as the World Capital of Bodybuilding is a testament to the emirate's strong reputation in this domain. I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who voted for Fujairah. We are committed to making the emirate a favorable destination for the promotion of this sport, as it serves as a unifying force. I would also like to commend the efforts of the organizing committee and the dedicated team that prepared the emirate's bid."
During the meeting, attended by the executive members of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, leaders of various international bodybuilding federations, and members of the United Arab Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation's board, His Highness received a comprehensive briefing on the championship program, its significance, and the levels of success it has achieved in recent years. The presentation highlighted the value it has added to Fujairah, the United Arab Emirates Federation, and the International Federation of Sports.
His Highness was also updated on the detailed programs of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, including the tournaments it organizes and the successful cooperation it maintains with the United Arab Emirates Federation, the International Federation, and the organizing committee of the tournament.
During the meeting, His Highness emphasized the need to review all details related to tournament organization and provide all necessary logistical and organizational capabilities to ensure the event's success and the achievement of desired objectives in accordance with the highest international standards and practices observed in the organization of continental and international tournaments.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
