Adnoc Distribution Opens 3 Stations Under Its Brand in Egypt
Abu Dhabi, Adnoc Distribution announced today the opening of three service stations bearing the Adnoc brand in Egypt, located in strategic areas in Greater Cairo, offering a comprehensive range of car care services to local communities.
The company plans to open six more service stations under the Adnoc brand throughout Egypt by the end of 2023. This comes following its acquisition earlier this year of a 50% stake in Total Energies Marketing Egypt S.A.E.
The opening ceremony took place at the Adnoc service station in Maadi, attended by prominent figures, including Engineer Tarek El-Molla, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Her Excellency Mariam Al Kaabi, the UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Khaled Abdel Aal, the Governor of Cairo, and Mr. Alaa El-Batt, the CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
Eng. Badr Saeed Al-Lamki, the CEO of Adnoc Distribution, stated, "Today marks a significant milestone in our international expansion journey as we launch Adnoc service stations in Egypt, strengthening our vision to become a leading regional mobility solutions provider. As a forward-looking company, we continue to take bold steps to meet our customers' needs and look forward to offering more of our innovative, digitally-supported services to the Egyptian market and exploring further opportunities for growth in our portfolio."
As part of its expansion, the company has also introduced the unique concept of "Adnoc Oasis Stores" to provide customers with an unparalleled shopping experience. These stores offer a wide range of food and beverages specially tailored to the tastes of Egyptian customers, including specialty coffee - 100% Arabica coffee - bearing the Adnoc Distribution brand.
Thomas Strachan, General Manager of Total Energies Marketing Egypt S.A.E., stated, "We are delighted to announce this important partnership with Adnoc Distribution, which reaffirms our shared vision to provide distinguished products and services to our valued customers in Egypt. We are confident that this partnership will enhance our offerings and our commitment to excellence in all the services we provide."
The joint project includes a diverse business portfolio in the refining and petrochemical sector, comprising over 240 retail fuel stations, more than 100 retail stores, over 250 oil change stations, car wash facilities, wholesale fuel, aviation fuel, and lubricants operations.
The partnership has successfully expanded its aviation fuel business by securing a supply contract for the Union Airways fuel in Cairo.
Additionally, the partnership is currently working on developing the infrastructure and logistics framework required for the launch of Adnoc Voyager oils, a distinctive range of lubricating oils approved by car manufacturers.
Adnoc Voyager products will be available to customers at Adnoc service stations in Egypt, as well as in the local lubricants market. The recently opened Adnoc service stations in Egypt are equipped to operate around the clock, seven days a week.
The three stations include Adnoc Oasis Stores, offering customers a wide variety of food and beverages, including fresh cuisine and baked goods, in addition to custom-roasted specialty coffee.
Adnoc Distribution's expansion in Egypt represents a significant new step in the implementation of its strategy for growth and international expansion.
In line with its smart growth strategy, the company opened its first stations outside of the UAE in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2018.
Furthermore, Adnoc Voyager products contribute to expanding Adnoc Distribution's global presence by exporting to 32 countries worldwide (as of June 30, 2023).
