Saudi Arabia is strengthening its economic partnership with Pakistan by investing $121 million in consultancy contracts for key health and energy projects. The collaboration reflects both nations’ focus on sustainable development and long-term growth.
The King Salman Hospital in Tarlai will receive $20 million to improve healthcare infrastructure, modernize facilities, and enhance service delivery. Meanwhile, Shounter and Jagran hydropower projects are financed with concessional loans of $66 million and $35 million, expanding Pakistan’s renewable energy capacity and supporting environmental sustainability.
Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki emphasized that these investments are part of a broader strategic relationship that combines diplomacy, economic support, and social impact. Pakistan’s Dr. Kazim Niaz highlighted the transformative role of Saudi Arabia, recalling past grants of $533 million and concessional loans totaling $1.2 billion.
The projects are expected to create jobs, improve public infrastructure, and provide thousands of Pakistanis with direct benefits. By focusing on energy and healthcare, Saudi Arabia supports Pakistan’s efforts to build a more resilient economy while promoting sustainable development.
