Students across the UAE will enjoy a total of 135 days off in the 2025–26 academic year, according to the Ministry of Education. Out of 313 days, 178 will focus on classroom instruction, while the remaining days are reserved for weekends, public holidays, and term breaks.
The year features 68 weekends and four public holidays, along with midterm breaks: seven days in the first semester, five in the second, and seven in the third. Additionally, a 30-day winter holiday and 14-day spring break provide extended periods for rest and family time.
The calendar strategically aligns with key celebrations: Eid Al Fitr falls during spring break, Eid Al Adha during the third-semester midterm, and New Year’s Day within the winter holiday. This synchronization ensures students can honor cultural traditions without missing instructional days.
The Ministry emphasized balancing academic needs with student wellbeing. Extended breaks prevent burnout, support family activities, and allow students to recharge, resulting in a more productive and focused learning experience.
This approach positions the UAE as a regional leader in student-centered scheduling, blending academic excellence with cultural awareness and personal development. Schools, families, and students benefit from a clear, organized calendar that accommodates both study and leisure.
