Kuwait has made it easier for residents of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain, to visit by introducing a visa-on-arrival scheme. The program is part of a broader effort to facilitate travel and promote economic engagement in the region.
To qualify, travelers must hold a residency permit valid for at least six months, belong to certain professions, have a passport, a return ticket, and not appear on Kuwait’s blacklist. The visa, issued upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport, is valid for three months.
This new facility complements the nationwide e-visa platform launched in July 2025, allowing visitors to obtain pre-approved electronic visas before travel. Together, these measures showcase Kuwait’s commitment to improving immigration procedures and easing access for professional and leisure travelers alike.
The visa-on-arrival initiative is also a step toward the long-anticipated unified GCC tourist visa, which will enable residents to move more freely across Gulf countries. By offering flexible entry options, Kuwait positions itself as a convenient and secure destination.
Officials highlight that the program targets professionals and individuals contributing to economic growth and regional collaboration. The initiative reflects a balanced approach, combining efficiency with security, while reinforcing Kuwait’s openness to regional visitors.
With this system in place, GCC residents can enjoy a simpler, faster, and more convenient travel experience. Kuwait continues to strengthen its tourism infrastructure and streamline immigration processes, making short-term visits, business trips, and family travel more accessible than ever.
Overall, the move marks a modernizing shift in Kuwait’s border policies and underscores the country’s role as a hub for regional travel and professional exchange.
